Welcome to GüD Haul!
GüD Haul is a living creative art & writing project as well as a love letter to fantasy, fantasy anachronisms and tabletop gaming. While I grew up interested in science-fiction, it wasn’t until adulthood that I really started to love and appreciate high fantasy. With GüD Haul I hope to celebrate all of my favorite things from Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & Dragons, A Knight’s Tale, The Green Knight, Robin Hood, The Man in the Iron Mask, Willow, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride & Clash of the Titans to name a few. I am especially drawn to the creative anachronism of a movie like A Knight’s Tale, the interweaving of modern tropes in a setting they don’t belong but are perfectly accepted as being normal. You can expect A LOT of that in GüD Haul; and if you’re not a fan of that in the slightest, I’ll warn you up front this may not be for you.
How did it start?
This project started 10 years ago as a series of hand drawn magical item cards I made for my gaming group for Christmas and since then I have been creating loot cards, maps, & NPCs as print-and-play offerings through my social media. This year I decided to move the project to the next step, focus the bulk of my creative freedom on GüD Haul and build it as not just a series of quirky item and character art, but into an entire series of fun and interesting fantasy gaming accessories.
I am so excited to be actively working on my first world setting zine/book and already outlining two adventure zines as well! But that’s just the start of all the creative things I want to make with this. Gaming Accessories, Adventures, World Settings, are all great; but I’m not stopping there! I want to make more than just gaming centric items. GüD Haul is so much more to me to stop there. Art, Props, Toys, STICKERS* and anything else I can draw a sword or a monster on and continue to build and grow this little escapist fantasy world.

Our first book, GüD Haul Guide to The Freelands is a 24 page, black and white zine style book featuring a single continent with a smattering of starter locations for adventures, a helpful NPC to guide your party, a playable Ancestry (Player Race/5e) and two different Lifestyles (Backgrounds/5e) and several maps and random generator tables to help inspire your games. The BEST part of this book and all of GüD Haul is that it’s SYSTEM AGNOSTIC.
We give you the spark and suggestions of how you might use these items, but you decide how to use them and what system to use them with. This project is first and foremost about Creativity and Fun. That’s what the core TTRPG experience is supposed to be about and that’s my focus with all of this.
